NOTE: These robots are not meant for children. All of the humanoid robot models discussed on this website use
powerful servos that can pinch or even crush your fingers if you are not careful. Consult the recommended minimum
age from the manufacturer before allowing children to use any of these robots.
The Robobuilder comes in several different kits,
with 8 DOF for beginners up to 20 DOF for
experts. All product reviews were created based
on the 5710K Black kit with 16 DOF. While this is
the lowest number of DOF in our survey, it helps
keep the price down.
The servo torque and speed are on the low end
of performance, but not the worst in our survey.
While the base kit for this robot was not designed
for Robo-One fighting, it still provides a decent
value for the money
While Robobuilder doesn't have the years of
experience that Kondo has, a healthy user
support community has developed. It is
interesting that users can upload and share their
own motions on the Robobuilder website.
Manuals and software in English
The Robobuilder provides some interesting advances, while keeping the price affordable. The manufacturer has
developed the robot with a substantially shorter build time then other robot kits. This robot can also be used to create
Bioloid in this way.
Recommendation: The Robobuilder is a great robot for beginners. The low price and short build time make getting
started easy. However, the plastic frame brackets mean that the base robot is not suitable for Robo-One style fighting,
although metal brackets are available as an upgrade.
