I-Sobot Build Report - Japanese Version

We obtained the Japanese Version of the I-Sobot which comes with white body coloring, and blue trim.  The
English speaking I-Sobot comes with black body coloring, and grey trim.  Other than that, these robots are nearly
identical.  The review below will show the similarities and differences between the two versions:
INSTRUCTIONS:

The I-Sobot Japanese Version contains the same Instruction Manual and Action Table quick reference card as the English speaking
version, except it is printed in Japanese.  Since we can't read Japanese we can't tell if there are any major differences, but from
appearances, it all looks the same.
BATTERIES:

The I-Sobot Japanese Version comes with exactly the same batteries as the English speaking version.  Even the battery charger is the
same, which means you can use it with American electrical outlets, without any adapter needed.  We were able to use the Japanese Version
batteries in our English speaking version, and vice versa, with no issues.

The batteries in the Japanese Version take the same amount of time to charge as the English speaking version (close to 6 hours).  After the
initial charge, we were able to use the I-Sobot Japanese Version for the same amount of time as the English speaking version, about 90
minutes.

NOTE:  These robots are not meant for children.  All of the humanoid robot models discussed on this website use
powerful servos that can pinch or even crush your fingers if you are not careful.  Consult the recommended minimum
age from the manufacturer before allowing children to use any of these robots.
THE BOX:

The I-Sobot Japanese Version comes in a white box with a flip panel which reveals the robot inside.
It has similar contents as the English speaking version: batteries, charger, instruction manual.
COMPARISON:

We thoroughly tested the I-Sobot Japanese Version and the English Speaking
version side-by-side.  The sound effects and language used by the robots
were different, but we found that almost all of the motion commands are
exactly the same for both robots.  The only time a motion was different, was
when the timing of the motion depended on a comment or sound effect from
the robot.  Other than that, all of the motion commands are the same, as can
be seen in these photos.

We were able to use the Japanese Version remote control to give commands
to the English speaking version, and vice versa.

The only real difference we could find between the robots is that the robot
only accepts and understands voice commands in the language it was
programmed.  So the Japanese Version did not understand English voice
commands and the English version did not understand Japanese voice
commands.  Not surprising, and not a material difference.
CONCLUSION:

The only differences between the Japanese Version and the English speaking version of the I-Sobot are: packaging materials, body color, remote
control color, voice command language, instruction manual language, and some sound effects.  Virtually all other aspects of the robot were identical.
We had a lot of fun when we tested the English Speaking version, and we had just as much fun with our Japanese Version.
